Raw Vegan Recipe: Real Raw Fig Fudge Brownies

These have got to be one of my favorite raw vegan brownies ever! I know I said that for my raw marbled brownies, too (recipe in my e-book) but these are just SO delicious! They taste and remind me of a fudge brownie. These brownie are decadent, guilt-free, low-fat, and turned out perfect! The taste and texture was WOWmazingly awesome. The dried and fresh figs, mixed with the brazil nuts made it firm up very well. You could also place them in the dehydrator to dry out and get warm, too. So it’ll look, taste and feel just like the traditional brownies, but way better for you 🙂

figs - mission and totato figs
My dad brought home a box of fresh mission and totato figs, so I decided to make brownies out of them. We also had dried figs on hand, so I knew combining the two together (fresh and dried figs) would make epic brownies. No surprise, the brownies turned out heavenly.

You can top off the brownies with fresh or dried figs, if you desire. I usually top mines off with my famous chocolate sauce and make a swirled marbled sauce for the top of the brownie, but this time, I kept it simple, real and raw! These brownies are ridiculous delectable. If you live in a household of brownie lovers, good luck trying to get them to last 24 hours 😉 They’re just sooo good, I don’t think they will last very long… which is a good thing.

Raw Fig Fudge Brownies Recipe

  • 1 cup buckwheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brazil nuts
  • 1/4 cup dried figs
  • 4-6 fresh figs  (the fresh figs replaces the dates in this recipe, but feel free to add pitted medjool dates if you don’t have fresh figs)
  • 1/2 tsp stevia powder
  • 4 tablespoons cacao or carob powder
  • 1/4-1/3 cup alkaline water (distilled or filtered)

DIRECTIONS
Place the brazil nuts in your blender or food processor, and process (or blend) until it’s crumbs into flour. Add in the rest of the ingredients, blending (or processing) until a it comes to a sticky, rough dough. Mines came out perfect in texture, (firm) but if it comes out too rough and dry, add more almond milk and some fresh figs (or just almond milk).

At the bottom of an 8×8 baking dish, spread the dough and form brownies. You don’t need to place these brownies in the fridge to harden; cover and let them sit on your kitchen counter. Cut and serve with a glass of almond milk – Enjoy! Mmmm!! Brownie lovers will fall in love! These are REAL BROWNIES, people! REAL, RAW, HEALTHY BROWNIES! 100% GUILT-FREE, BABY!!

You can use this raw brownie recipe to make balls, truffles, cupcakes, nut butter and jelly sandwiches (recipe on this soon!), pie and cake crusts, blend it into smoothies (you’ll get a raw blizzard!), top off the brownie chunks/crumbs on top of ice cream, or simply enjoy them like brownies and if you wanted, add epic toppings on top! Have fun experimenting 🙂
