The products we use on our skin, hair and for cleaning our home and clothes – matters just as much as the foods and drinks we consume. Our skin is our largest organ and it only takes less than 26 seconds for toxins to penetrate into our bloodstream. Thus, it gets absorbed right into our cells and body! That’s why it’s crucial to go the holistic, chemical-free route and be very selective about the products you put on your skin.
Luckily, there is an amazing company out there that genuinely cares about the well-being and health of people, animals and the environment. The company I am talking about and reviewing today is called Dr. Bronner’s. You probably already heard about them, as most of their products (particularly their bar and liquid soaps) can be found at your local supermarket nationwide. I have been using Dr. Bronner’s products for 4 years now, ever since I transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle. And throughout all those years, not ONCE have their soaps disappointed me ever!
All of Dr. Bronner’s products are made with certified Organic, GMO-free and Fair Trade ingredients, and are biodegradable. Their products are packaged in 100% post-consumer plastic bottles, which helps to reduce waste in this world. They have Fair Trade from around the world, including countries in Ecuador, Ghana, Palestine, Israel, Sri Lanka, and more. You can learn more about their Global Fair Trade here.
Dr. Bronner’s was founded by a third generation German-Jewish soapmaker by the name of Emanuel Bronner in 1948. He believed in having love and fair compassion towards all of our fellow brothers and sisters here on earth, and believed that WE ARE ALL ONE OR NONE! He used his powerful messages to help spread the word about humanity and kindness on his labels, as a means to spread the message. This is why all of Dr. Bronner’s packaging comes with powerful script and writings all over it. Sadly, Emanuel passed away in peace from an illness (he was blind) on March 7, 1997. Now, the company is family owned and operated.
Dr. Bronner’s mission, goal, promise, transparency, and organic integrity is what makes this company revered by millions around the world. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Bronner’s products, and I am super excited to share my review post with you today. Dr. Bronner’s have been soap making for over a century, since 1858! Their mission, promise and goal is powerful and its what makes them trustworthy.
My Unbiased Product Review
Before I get into the actual review, I would like to mention that I really LOVE all of Dr. Bronner’s products. They have my love and support and this is a company I know for a FACT that I will use for the rest of my lifetime here on earth, and I know that the company will NEVER sell out to big pharma or to a big, cruel corporation. Dr. Bronner’s are not sell-outs and are really in it to help people become healthier and create a better world.
Emanuel Bronner was the founder of Dr. Bronner’s products. Since he passed away in 1997, the company is family owned and operated.
I was sent the following products to review:
- Citrus Organic Hair Rinse
- Lavender Coconut Organic Hair Creme
- 4-in-1 Sugar Organic Pump Soap
- Sal Suds Biodegradable Cleaner
- Lavender Organic Hand Sanitizer
- New All-in-One Toothpaste
ORGANIC HAIR RINSE
This smells really good, almost like juice! It’s chunky and concentrated, so for this reason, Dr. Bronner’s recommends diluting this rinse with water. This rinse is to be treated as conditioner after washing your hair with Dr. Bronner’s bar soap. And if you’re new to Dr. Bronner’s products, you can wash your hair with their bar soaps of choice for shampoo and use their organic hair rinse for conditioner, as their bar soaps will leave your hair dry and tangly.
I used to after bathig my dog and it made his skin soft and his scalp less itchy.
LAVENDER ORGANIC COCONUT HAIR CREME
This hair creme smells so good and yummy; it makes me wanna eat it, haha! The aroma of this creme reminds me of a coconut milk. It makes your hair soft, shiny, thick, and luscious. Really styles the hair nicely and makes my curls bounce! This creme is meant to be used as a leave in conditioner or simply as a styling creme after washing your hair.
SUGAR ORGANIC PUMP SOAP
Love this organic sugar pump soap! It smells quite yummy and good, makes me wanna eat it 😉 It makes whatever you’re cleaning smell good and I love to use it in my kitchen to wash dishes and to wash my hands, as well. A little goes a long way when using Dr. Bronner’s products and you only really need less than a squirt (depending on how dirty your hands are) to wash your hands, as it lathers quite a lot (it’s more of a natural/foam, though). Of course, it’s made without harsh chemicals and ingredients.
SAL SUDS BIODEGRADABLE CLEANER SOAP
I use this biodegradable soap for laundry, and it makes the clothes smell good and feel super clean! As you will read on their very informative label, this product contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). This ingredient is different from Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), which is a carcinogenic chemical ingredient found in most household cleaning, hair and beauty products. Studies show that SLS is safe to use in small amounts and is meant to be washed off (like the Sal Suds soap is meant; wash and rinse).
LAVENDER HAND SANITIZER
This hand sanitizer is by far one of my favorite Dr. Bronner’s products!! Lavender happens to be my favorite essential oil, so it’s no surprise I fell in love with this flavor quickly. It has a strong lavender aroma, and being that it’s a hand sanitizer to clean away germs and bacteria, it really leaves your hands clean, soft, refreshing, and smelling really good!
Although this product is a sanitizer, it’s more of a spray sanitizer since it does not have that thick gel like consistency sanitizers typically have. Because it’s more like a spray, this sanitizer can be used as perfume or use it to spray your dog(s) to avoid getting fleas. I highly recommend having this sanitizer around, especially when you’re on the road and need to wash your hands.
I love Dr. Bronner’s toothpaste! They have 3 toothpaste flavors: cinnamon, peppermint and anise. All of their toothpaste leaves your mouth feeling clean, refreshed, smelling good, and even tingly. Their toothpaste helps to removes plaque and whitens the teeth. Their toothpaste leaves your mouth feeling tingly and is low-foaming. The main ingredients in their toothpaste are coconut oil, coconut flour and baking soda. And of course, their toothpaste are made without chemicals or known carcinogens.
BONUS REVIEW: BAR SOAP & LIQUID SOAPS
I buy Dr. Bronner’s bar soaps all the time at my local supermarket and use it for laundry, cleaning, and to even bathe my dog, Rubio with it! You could even use their bar soaps to brush your teeth with it and even to wash your hair! it’s amazing how versatile their soaps are, which is why they are an All-in-One brand. So, you can literally use Dr. Bronner’s over 50 different ways; so versatile, safe and healthy for your home, kids, babies, pets, you, and this beautiful world we live in. This brand is truly making a difference in their world. There are a lot of holistic soaps on the market, but Dr. Bronner’s products is the ONLY brand I recommend.
So, that ends my review for Dr. Bronner’s products! I encourage you to go learn more about this wonderful brand and see what kind of philanthropy they are doing around the world. Their website is drbronners.com and give them a big support and follow. By buying any of Dr. Bronner’s products, you are supporting a cause much greater.
