How to Make the Most Delicious Salad Every Time!

Salads are often underestimated. I know I used to underestimate salads myself, especially when I was a meat-eater and when I first transitioned to a vegan lifestyle. I thought that salads were not a complete meal and were not tasty if the greens were not drenched in a heavy dressing. I have come to LOVE salads now, thanks to raw living foods. They are truly amazing, and really pack a punch.

We all love a tasty salad, and the key to a delicious salad is the dressing and seasonings. I eat salads a lot almost every night, and each salad is different and sure not the same. Even if I add the same ingredients, each salad is unique in taste and flavor.

I like to switch up my salad add-ins, along with which dressing I use. Most days, I keep the dressing light and simple, while other days, I like to get fancy and make a simple and yummy, blended fruit dressing.

So without further explanation, below are my tips on how to make the delicious salad every time without fail!

Tip #1: It’s All About the Seasonings!

I love to add organic paprika, turmeric, all-purpose seasonings or italian seasonings, and a pinch of sea salt into my salads. But recently,

Tip #2: It’s all about the Liquids!

The dressing I typically use in my salads are vinaigrette type. I love to add apple cider vinegar, coconut aminos and freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice. Simply, pour in about a heaping 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 4 tablespoons coconut aminos, and organic herbs and spices (seasonings of your choice) into your bowl of salad, and mix your salad thoroughly. Enjoy! I don’t really measure anything, so just add more or less as you like. The Key here is to mix your salad thoroughly.

Tip #3: Ripe Avocado!

I can’t stress it enough the importance of eating RIPE fruits. Avocados are ripe when soft, and  when they are soft, they are literally like butter! Ripe avocados inside salad makes the salad creamier and richer! I always add avocados in my salads; it’s basically a staple for me. Avocados are an excellent source of fat and amino acids, and they help to keep you fuller longer and focused.

Let’s sum it up: soft and creamy ripe avocado + liquids + seasonings, herbs & spices = the most delicious vinaigrette! Simple, low in fat, and healthy!

Another delicious idea to an amazing tasting salad is, allowing it to marinate so all the flavors can incorporate together. Sometimes, my salads are so colossal, that I don’t always finish it. I save it, covered in my colossal bowl, in the fridge and eat it the next day. WOW! It tastes amazing the next day.

TIP: I like to enjoy my salads creamy, with not too much liquid. I notice that adding too much acidic liquids like apple cider vinegar and lemon or lime juice makes your salad taste tasteless, as all the flavors go into the juice. I would recommend adding 1 cap full of apple cider vinegar and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice.
