SMOOTHIE TIP: Your smoothie ingredients should be no more than 5 ingredients. Adding TOO many ingredients in a SINGLE smoothie can cause indigestion or a slower digestion. Be sure to CHEW your smoothies, too, and drink it slowly for optimum digestion and absorption. Don’t chug your smoothie down; actually enjoy it.
Another tip to keep in mind, is PROPER FOOD COMBINATION. Fruits that COMBINE WELL in smoothies are: bananas, dates, mango, apple, pears, berries, and grapes. Fruits that DON”T COMBINE WELL are sweet fruits with citrus or acidic fruits like oranges, pineapple, tomatoes. etc. FRESH IS ALWAYS BEST, however, you can add a mix of fresh and frozen fruits into your smoothies to make it colder. You wouldn’t need to add ice if you add frozen fruits.
